Buying a ticket should not require the concentration of a final-over run chase. For an eligible event that clearly offers AusLanka checkout, the practical journey is: sign in, choose, review, complete, then open My Tickets.
Direct platform ticketing is currently launch-gated in the public Help Centre, so use this as a ready-to-publish guide only after the live event page shows the feature. Events that link to an external provider use that provider’s checkout and ticket wallet instead.
Before you start
Confirm the event uses AusLanka checkout rather than an external link.
Check the date, time, venue, session and attendee requirements.
Sign in with an AusLanka account and email you can access later.
Have a supported payment method ready for a paid event.
Read any age, access, identification and refund information.
Step 1: Select the ticket
Open the full event page and choose the correct tier. Check what the tier includes, whether sales are open and whether quantity limits apply. Enter the number of tickets, then review the selected session before continuing.
If you are booking for the whole family, count people, not opinions. Group chats can produce eleven messages and still leave one cousin uncounted.
Step 2: Check the subtotal, fee and total
Review the order summary line by line. The ticket subtotal, any disclosed service fee and the final total should be visible before payment. Use the current checkout amount; do not rely on a screenshot, poster or price someone remembers from last week.
For free eligible tickets, the total may be zero, but you still need to finish the booking and receive confirmation. Selecting a free tier is not the same as holding a valid ticket.
Step 3: Review the refund policy
Read the event-specific refund and cancellation policy, including the attendee notice. Accept it only after you understand the conditions and any separate treatment of the service fee.
If something is unclear, pause and ask before completing the order. It is easier to clarify a policy before paying than to debate it later with three screenshots and a voice note.
Step 4: Complete the displayed checkout
Follow the secure checkout shown for the event. Keep the page open until you reach a clear success or confirmation result. A temporary hold, pending bank entry or loading screen does not necessarily mean the order has finished.
If checkout is cancelled or fails, return to the event page and check the ticket status. Avoid repeatedly submitting payment while the first attempt is uncertain.
Step 5: Find the order in My Tickets
Sign in with the account used at checkout and open My Tickets. Find the event, then open View tickets or the equivalent current action. Check the event details, order status, quantity and each ticket.
If the order is missing, first confirm that you used the same email and account. Then check the purchase email and current support option with the order reference—never send a full payment-card number or password.
Step 6: Save useful documents
Where offered, download the ticket PDF and receipt PDF. Store them somewhere you can open without relying on patchy venue reception. Give the files sensible names instead of keeping six downloads called document-final-final-2.
A receipt is proof of the transaction; a ticket carries entry information. They serve different purposes, so take the ticket or QR view requested by the organiser.
Step 7: Use the QR code safely
Keep the QR code private. Do not post it on social media, include it in a public event photo or forward it to people who do not need it. On event day, open the code before joining the entry line and increase screen brightness.
If one order contains multiple tickets, check that you can move between them smoothly. Entry staff may need to scan each ticket separately.
If something changes
Check the event page and organiser messages for schedule, venue or cancellation updates. If you need a refund, open the order and follow the current request path under the event’s policy.
For an external event, stop here and use the external provider’s instructions. The AusLanka wallet and platform refund process apply only to eligible platform orders.

Where is my QR code?
Open My Tickets, choose the order and view the individual tickets. The current page may also offer a ticket PDF.
Can I print the PDF?
